Hermès at ICONSIAM: A Dawn of Craft, Culture, and Contemporary Civilization in Bangkok
Bangkok, Thailand — In a defining collaboration between timeless luxury and progressive material innovation, Hermès unveils its flagship presence at ICONSIAM, shaped through a bespoke architectural intervention by Enter Projects Asia (EPA).
Set along the banks of the Chao Phraya River, within one of Asia’s most culturally significant destinations, the project marks a convergence of heritage and forward-thinking design—anchored by a sculptural rattan environment that redefines the language of luxury retail.

At the heart of the space, Enter Projects Asia conceived, designed, developed, fabricated, and installed a continuous rattan installation—an immersive architectural surface that curves, folds, and envelops. Developed through advanced digital modelling and realised through traditional weaving techniques, it operates as both structure and spatial narrative—expressing Southeast Asia’s deep-rooted craft traditions at an architectural scale.

Captured in the quiet stillness of dawn, the space reveals its full intent. Soft morning light filters across the woven surfaces, drawing out depth, rhythm, and material nuance. These early hours speak to something more fundamental—the origins of making, the beginnings of civilisation, and the enduring human instinct to build with nature.
This is not decoration. It is a return.
The use of rattan—one of the oldest materials in human construction—positions the project within a broader shift: away from industrialised systems and toward a plant-based architectural future. Here, Hermès’ legacy of craftsmanship aligns with Enter Projects Asia’s vision of a plant-based revolution—where material, technology, and culture operate as one.

The Bangkok flagship becomes more than a store. It is a spatial manifesto—where French luxury meets the spirit of Southeast Asia, where traditional techniques are elevated through contemporary precision, and where the future of design is rooted in material intelligence.

Enter Projects Asia’s contribution reflects a new model of design and delivery—integrating concept, prototyping, and fabrication into a single, controlled system. The result is an environment that is both deeply human and distinctly forward-looking.
In this collaboration, Hermès does not simply arrive in Bangkok—it becomes part of its cultural fabric.
