The house of the ’70s was no longer up to date and had to be rebuilt. Complete wood construction was built upon the concrete floor level. The small hotel in the high mountains surrounded by Forrest and meadows contains 8 suites and 2 dining rooms. The form follows the modern interpretation of a high alpine house. Glass and natural wood are the principal facade elements.

The current building has three floors with a private apartment, a restaurant, and four rooms for private room rentals.

As part of an upcoming renovation involving the heating, roof, building envelope, etc., the idea was considered to raise the roof within the available space and construct eight new rooms for private room rentals. At the same time, the dining room will also be expanded. Two staff rooms will be located in the slightly raised attic.

1. The basement and ground floor will remain essentially unchanged, except for the expansion of the dining room in the area of the existing terrace.

2. The first attic floor will be completely redesigned. It will contain four rooms with bathrooms and balconies facing south and four rooms with bathrooms and balconies facing the mountain.

3. Access will be via a single-flight staircase on the east facade.

4. The building's shape will be retained and fitted with a gable roof. The roof will be slightly offset and feature a break along the gable. The elevated east wing, which is visible from the street, is slightly higher than the west wing. The east wing is designed as a continuous roof surface. In contrast, the west wing, which is not visible from the street, features a small roof terrace, which is the only possible open space for guests. The staff rooms are also oriented towards this area, but they can also use a small portion of the roof terrace for themselves, separate from the guests. The roof terrace and staff rooms are not visible from the street.

As a design element of the facade, the two roof surfaces are visually extended over the first floor on the east and west facades, respectively, and clad in wood. Only small, irregular openings are provided in these lateral wooden surfaces. The south facade is simply fitted with irregularly placed vertical beams. The design with a gable roof, solid wood timber-framed gable, and the generous glass surfaces behind it allows the building to remain well integrated into its natural surroundings. Nevertheless, contemporary details and interpretations identify the house as a modern building.

6. A roof terrace is planned in a roof recess to offer separate quiet areas and seating for restaurant guests and those staying in private rooms.
