It was located in a relatively newly developed residential area in the town southwest of Mt.Fuji. The site is nearly 30 meters deep, with a sidewalk on the west side and a green park on the east side.
In order to build relationships with roads and parks through the outside space, the building is centrally located and has two gardens. The front yard open to the road is a space like a plaza covered with lawns, and you can watch the grandchildren play from the tatami mat and the front door. On the other hand, in the back garden, we made a slope toward the park, which is about 1.5m high, giving the impression that greenery is connected. It is a garden where you can enjoy the four seasons, such as autumn leaves and flowers, centering on a pond that reflects trees.
The building has a structure that opens into these two gardens, and in the center is a blow-out space with a ceiling height of 3.9 m, which penetrates between the gardens. Places such as the entrance, guest room, study, dining room, and living room are connected in layers, giving each room a width and depth that makes it comfortable. You can see the various expressions of the two gardens in a pleasant space where the openings made through the layers of walls and the grids of the rails overlap each other, and the light from the high windows changes momentarily, allowing the wind to pass through.
There are entrances in two or more directions, including other rooms, centered around this area, and it is planned that you can walk around without stopping. It was designed to help elderly couples live a relaxing life.
