SOLANO GROUP, a company that supports businesses in running production processes efficiently and provides comprehensive outsourcing services, has opened a new office that puts a strong emphasis on human-centred design. The 1,000 m² headquarters were conceived with employees’ mental and physical well-being at heart. Interior design was delivered by AKA Studio, led by architect Karolina Kowalik.
Assumptions and challenges
The new flagship office occupies the entire ground floor of a newly completed residential building. Lower ceilings than in typical office towers had to be upgraded to modern workplace standards, while the space also needed to reflect the company’s core values, such as a strong work ethic and genuine care for the comfort and well-being of employees and partners.
“Our goal was to create a place that not only meets functional work needs, but also fosters a positive atmosphere and well-being for everyone who spends time here. We therefore started with design workshops involving the staff. Thanks to the commitment of the whole team and the Board we developed customised solutions that address everyday challenges perfectly. It’s worth stressing that active employee participation in the design process translates directly into long-term benefits for them,”

A homely atmosphere at work
The office is divided into two zones: one with rooms tailored for small teams and the other—a large open-plan area for closely collaborating groups. Between these zones lie shared social and relaxation areas. A kitchen combined with a dining room, a large communal table, comfortable furniture and even a swing create a welcoming environment that encourages integration, relaxation and re-energising. Abundant timber elements and soft fabrics make employees feel “at home”, reinforcing a friendly ambience for everyone using the space.
Colours that boost focus and creativity
Colour plays a crucial role in establishing the right mood and comfort while harmonising with the company’s branding. Work zones feature subdued greys and blues that support concentration. Common areas introduce more energetic accents—vivid oranges and yellows—that contrast with the rest of the office, adding freshness and positive energy.
Sustainable solutions – caring for the future
With sustainability in mind, SOLANO GROUP opted for eco-conscious solutions. The office is equipped with a central control system for under-floor heating, air-conditioning, ventilation and lighting, optimising energy use. All materials—carpeting and other fit-out elements—meet stringent sustainability standards.
“In every project we make sure that the materials and furnishings are eco-friendly and produced in line with sustainable-development principles. At the same time, mindful of minimising our carbon footprint, we support domestic manufacturers and safeguard local jobs. We hope this holistic approach becomes the norm in design,”
