In 2022, Brenac et Gonzalez and Associates (BGA) agency has delivered a building in Lyon-Vaise called I-CONIC, which will become the new regional headquarters of Nexity.
In the vein of the architectural expression of the masters of modernity, this 2.0 project meets the requirements of our contemporary world and will evolve over time, thanks to its flexible plastic metal structure, which is in total harmony with the spirit of the place, including its choice of construction.
In the ZAC (Urban development zone) de l'Industrie, this 13,000 m² office building naturally occupies its magnificent site between the Balme and the Saône, strongly characterized by its geography. Near the riverbanks, the site’s topography generates the multi-faceted geometry of the building and the roads that border it. Thus, the roads draw a parcel as a figurehead.
Here everything flows. Water, trains, cars, the plot itself. The parcel itself evokes the presence of the river, by dividing the way from the quay in the manner of the bow of a boat or that of an island, such as the nearby Île Barbe.
"The idea of the metal structure magnified by a treatment of its color, on a ZAC named Industry, near a railway network, seemed natural for this office building which thus recalls the industrial past of the district ... The fantastic copper tint, rust of colored varnish allows to see the material of the metal beyond the tint" explains Jean-Pierre Lévêque.
