Interior design integrates residence with nature in São José do Rio Preto
534 sq m house at Condomínio Quinta do Golfe Reserva combines minimalism and sustainability in project by Lucas Fernandes Arquitetos office
SÃO JOSÉ DO RIO PRETO - A new architectural work establishes a distinctive standard for residential construction in São José do Rio Preto. The Quinta do Golfe Residence, featuring interior design by Lucas Fernandes Arquitetos office, unites minimalist design with integration to the natural landscape of the surrounding golf course and forest reserve.
Built on a 591.50 square metre plot at Condomínio Quinta do Golfe Reserva, the house has 534.32 square metres of built area. The owner, a civil engineer, opted for a modular structural conception with five-metre spans, where the structure integrates with the masonry.
The project draws attention through its cantilevered corners on the front and rear façades, which lend lightness to the architectural volume. Inside, the double-height ceiling in the sitting room houses a sculptural staircase that connects the spaces.
Contrast of volumes and textures
The exterior composition reveals a dialogue between contrasting volumes and textures. The ground floor presents greater visual weight in dark tones, whilst the upper floor displays lighter lines in pale colours. The basalt on the left lateral volume contrasts with the slatted panel that covers part of the front façade, camouflaging doors and windows of the laundry and storage areas.
Brazilian travertine is the protagonist material of the project. It extends from the garage throughout the entire ground floor to the pool area. Used with a polished finish in internal areas and rough in external ones, the material brings movement and cosiness to the spaces, whilst providing visual unity to the composition.
Interior design values experience
The internal spaces prioritise sobriety, enhanced by selected textures and designer furniture that punctuates the spaces. In the sitting room, an organic sofa breaks the symmetry of the space, accompanied by iconic pieces such as the Jangada armchair by Jean Gillon, Barcelona armchairs, Charles Eames, Costela and Bertoia pieces.
The dining room displays a table in ebonised wood with slim edges, bringing lightness in contrast with the black, complemented by Wishbone chairs with natural fibre seats.
In the gourmet veranda, the rustic basalt portico frames the barbecue and sink with stainless steel finishes. The external seating area favours warm materials and light tones.
The pool area, also clad in Brazilian travertine, features a raised edge that functions as seating and a visual barrier in relation to the golf course, allowing privacy without compromising the view.
Sustainability and efficiency
The project contemplates sustainable solutions, such as solar energy utilisation for water heating and electricity generation. The modular structure, with internal tie rods that enable the cantilevered corners, demonstrates commitment to constructive efficiency and technical innovation.
The landscaping, in tropical style marked by volume of foliage and textures, integrates with the natural landscape of the surroundings, establishing dialogue between architecture and nature.
