Diving in to rescue a home extension that was being mishandled by a third party, Russian For Fish not only untangled a planning nightmare, they also succeeded in transforming a standard-issue two-bed terrace into a sympathetically extended four-bed dream home.The highlight of the project is a striking zinc ground-floor extension with black Crittal-style doors in floor-to-ceiling glass and a pitched glazed roof that ensures the space is flooded with natural light throughout the day. One of the main considerations was accommodating the tall height of the owners (one is 6’4”) in the extended space, which had an impact on the structural design of the space.Now complete, the house is beautiful, bright and spacious, with a striking extension that creates an engaging material contrast with the original architecture.
