Kingsmead Café sits within a 150.000ft2 Business Park in High Wycombe. The brief was to create a new identity and focal point on site, replacing an existing roundabout within the car park as part of a wider upgrade to the development. The café forms the centrepiece of the larger rebranding & landscaping of the business park, including better pedestrian links across the site, new signage and landscaping. The allowable footprint of 100m2 was limited due to existing planning restrictions.
Therefore Cove Burgess designed the building’s shape to achieve a larger volume and at the same time create sheltered external areas. After completion of the café, the surrounding office buildings went from 50% to 95% let and our client sold the business park successfully in 2015.
