The idea was to design a house in a residential neighborhood north of Buenos Aires, with modern and contemporary features, placing the emphasis on the use of materials that generate great warmth and a feeling of home. Black metal, black flagstone and lapacho wood fulfilled their task to perfection.
We considered that the house for this young active family should be very versatile and with a strong connection between the rooms. We adopted the romantic idea of generating strong feelings in the transition spaces. This is why one enters through a water feature with an immaculate magnolia, whilst the stair landing is a bar to serve special drinks to friends, and the hall and upper floor corridors are accompanied by a raised garden. In this way, those spaces are transformed into interesting points for the life of the house.
We always focus on the colors of the materials we choose because we try not to paint but rather give color through the materials themselves, and these help us to give each project the vibe we are looking for.
The views and the sun were key in deciding the location of each room; with a simple and functional layout we brought this house to life making it, clearly, an offshoot of the modern movement.
