Spanning from September 22 to October 1, 2023, the 'La Mercè de Picasso' installation in Barcelona registered 1345 attendees, predominantly composed of local residents, particularly from the Plaça de la Mercè neighborhood. The event's title references the plaza's establishment in 1981, replacing demolished buildings, including the former dwelling of Picasso's family at  Mercè street number 3. Despite his departure for Paris at the age of 22, Picasso's connection to the area remains evident, influencing the exhibition's architectural context.
