House in the field

This is a small house designed for a large family and built within a very low budget.
The wood structure organises here, alone the house spaces. No other walls or fittings are added.

The structure holds an open "deck" and an imposing zinc roof. The deck floor holds the day areas, and the second floor, in the attics, accommodates the sleeping areas.Instead of walls, the skin is made of large sliding doors of polycarbonate panels fitted on wooden frames.

This light and white material set on sliding screens recalls Japanese architecture techniques. When closed, the house takes advantage of the filtered white light as if coming through paper. And when opened the house becomes a mere covered deck placed on the fields.Every space can be widely opened. The barrier between interior and exterior spaces is completely erased as soon as a panel is moved.
