Millimeter House Kahyangan

Millimeter House Kahyangan, nestled in Desa Buduk, Bali, exemplifies modern tropical architecture with its striking wooden louvre façade that seamlessly balances privacy, natural connectivity, and climate responsiveness. Positioned along a riverbank and surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, the design embraces its natural setting, prioritizing soft natural lighting and cross-ventilation to suit Bali’s tropical climate. The operable wooden louvres provide flexibility, enabling residents to control sunlight and airflow, creating an adaptable, comfortable living environment.

The house spans 110 square meters and maximizes its narrow footprint with a thoughtfully designed three-story layout. The ground floor serves as a private retreat, featuring a secluded master bedroom that opens to the natural surroundings. A gently sloping ramp connects the ground floor to the second level, which houses the Living-Dining-Kitchen (LDK) area. This fluid design promotes a seamless indoor-outdoor experience, inviting the surrounding environment into daily life. The third floor includes a second bedroom and a multifunctional space, enhanced by a central void that visually links all levels, fostering openness and connection throughout the home.

Internally, the wooden louvres create a mesmerizing play of light and shadow, elevating the interiors’ aesthetic while maintaining a cool, inviting atmosphere. The design emphasizes harmony between architecture and nature by using sustainable materials and principles, ensuring the home integrates with its environment while offering modern functionality. Millimeter House Kahyangan stands as a tranquil, immersive sanctuary that celebrates the beauty of its tropical setting while addressing its environmental challenges.
