Overlooking the crystal-clear sea and just a few minutes away from the centre of Chalkida, Mirage Chalkida City Resort is conceived as a place where landscape, architecture and hospitality come together seamlessly. Set within the Euboean Gulf, along the Agios Minas seafront, the five-star resort — redesigned by the Greek architecture studio De.Ar Architects — unfolds as an immersive experience, where interior design and the surrounding panorama enter into a harmonious, ongoing dialogue.
Daylight, proximity to the water and attention to detail define every space , balancing leisure and liveliness . The concept of hospitality takes shape as a true sensory journey : bright settings, generous sea views and spaces dedicated to well-being and conviviality accompany guests through a restorative experience, where time slows down, inviting them to rediscover a more relaxed rhythm and a sense of immediate comfort.
Beyond its aesthetic and spatial qualities , the renovation places significant emphasis on the building’s energy performance . From the choice of raw materials to water management and recycling, culminating in the achievement of energy self-sufficiency through the use of renewable sources, the project aims to significantly reduce the environmental impact by minimising the carbon footprint.
The exterior of the building has been designed to combine functionality, safety and aesthetic harmony. The entrance now features larger windows, improving natural daylight and airflow in the common areas. The seafront side maintains its original character, enhanced by refined details : outdoor spaces are characterised by shades of blue, while the railings have been replaced with glass balustrades, expanding views of the horizon and strengthening the connection with the surrounding seascape .
In this setting, Pedrali collections blend seamlessly into both indoor and outdoor areas, creating a cohesive sense of harmony. The timeless design, high-quality materials and carefully considered colour palette integrate effortlessly into the environment, enhancing the guest experience while reinforcing the identity of the resort and its connection to the local context.
On the outdoor terrace, where guests can relax and dine overlooking the sea, Philía side chairs and armchairs by Odo Fioravanti find their ideal setting.
Philía is a collection of outdoor seating reminiscent of traditional Italian garden chairs, it recalls the relaxed open-air lifestyle typical of the Italian “dolce vita” of the Sixties. An armchair and a side chair featured by rational and geometric lines that blend with softer forms typical of the human body. Philía is characterised by a resistant steel tubular frame, while seat and backrest are wrapped in a PVC cord, textured with lines, that, thanks to horizontal weaving, intersects at the centre to ensure elasticity and high resistance. The hand-made weave gives softness and comfort to the seat, as well as a tailor-made look. The side chairs are arranged around Arki-Base tables, characterised by clean, modern lines , while Buddy coffee tables by Busetti Garuti Redaelli complete the outdoor setting with aluminium legs and square tops.
Seamlessly connected to the terrace, the indoor lounge is a spacious and welcoming environment designed to offer uninterrupted views over the crystal-clear sea, strengthening the relationship with the surrounding landscape. Here, Stiel side chairs and armchairs by Sebastian Herkner define the space — a collection inspired by elegance and sophistication. The seating features soft, rounded shapes in polyurethane foam on a curved round steel tube frame. The seat and backrest are connected to the frame without visible fixing screws. The collection is arranged around Arki-Base tables and Arki-Table round tables, both featuring steel frames and trestle bases.
Within the same space, Hevea, by Victoria Azadinho Bocconi , introduces a natural element while subtly dividing the areas . This versatile furnishing element brings greenery into both residential and contract settings. This plant holder consists of a central steel stem to which polypropylene pots are hung, allowing for different configurations based on their number and position. The pots are easy to attach, either opposite one another or in a spiral. This versatile element allows plants to be arranged verticall y, without occupying areas destined for other uses. Hevea discreetly fits into any setting, complementing small indoor plants and creating unique and potentially infinite compositions.
Hevea Partition is a three-column plant holder that creates green walls. The Hevea elements fasten mechanically and are therefore easily separable for cleaning purposes. The different components can be disposed of correctly at the end of their life cycle.
Enhancing the bar area, dominated by a marble structure with a monolithic form, are Jazz barstools. Harmony of shapes, ergonomics and elegance define the collection. A comfortable seat and a curved, embracing backrest supported by a slender steel frame ensure a balanced interplay of proportions and profiles .
Adjacent, a space dedicated to relaxation opens onto the crystal-clear sea. Here, guests can pause among lounge seating and a bookcase, within an intimate and cosy atmosphere that encourages reading and contemplation. This area features Stiel lounge armchairs by Sebastian Herkner . The seat features elastic belts that enhance comfort: with its enveloping softness, it is designed for moments of ease or for convivial settings, where personal well-being takes centre stage. Inox coffee tables and Buddy tables by Busetti Garuti Redaelli complete the space.
Pedrali products also contribute to a sense of comfort and well-being within the bedrooms. Here, Babila side chairs by Odo Fioravanti find their perfect place — a collection that is able to move between tradition and innovation with great agility. Its strength lies in its simplicity and directness , recalling a timeless shape. The chair, featuring a technopolymer shell, is upholstered in fabric or simil leather and completed with a steel tube frame. The Ikon coffee table by Pio & Tito Toso and the upholstered Wow poufs by Claudio Dondoli & Marco Pocci are discreetly integrated within the room.
On the private terraces, Tribeca armchairs by Mandelli Pagliarulo complete the experience. Tribeca takes us back in time with a modern reinterpretation of classic Sixties patio chairs made from steel and woven material. A true icon, revisited with new materials: a steel frame, combined with the elasticity of a profile in vertically woven plastic material that is remarkably durable, easy to clean and colourful. Handcrafted with the highest attention to detail, this chair is incredibly soft and comfortable and puts a contemporary twist on tradition with its cutting-edge design and quality. The woven pattern creates a dynamic sense of rhythm and openness. Here, the armchairs are paired with Elliot tables by Patrick Jouin, distinguished by an elegant silhouette and slender, refined proportions .
