MLT Aikins Offices

MLT Akins Saskatoon Law Offices are located on the 11th and 12th floors of the East Tower at 4093rd Avenue South in the River Landing Development in Saskatoon, SK. MLT Akins is “Western Canada’s law firm” with 240+ lawyers based out of 6 offices in Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver. The interior colour palette of grey, black, and white is combined with a wood finish for the furniture and doors. The 12th floor contains the client areas: reception, waiting area and boardrooms. This floor was designed to showcase the views along the river valley as it winds through downtown Saskatoon. The 12th floor was also designed with a long servery counter and double doors to each boardroom – so the entire space can be used for client events.

This project was initiated and completed during the COVID-19 pandemic, which required a special level of coordination between trades, and the general contractor. What materials did you choose and why? KSA Group chose a colour palette of grey, black and white to provide a classic interior that would not date over time. The main reception lobby/meeting room areas have the minimum number of materials for simplicity: glass walls, white drywall ceiling and a grey marble tile floor in a large format size. The feature wall and millwork is black.
