The Moovi Space, located within the K11 shopping and art center on Huaihai Road, serves as a hub for brand experiences. Apart from selling sports goods, Moovi Space doubles as an event space, attracting visits from artists, florists, and furniture designers. This compact venue is becoming a part of the K11 art exhibition space.
The design challenge lies in maximizing space utilization and shaping its characteristics. In this confined space, apart from showcasing different product series, there is also a need for a flexible exhibition hall to accommodate changing content. Strategically, we designed an open central area to serve as the focal point, hosting diverse activities. Products are displayed in series, occupying the wall space, with various types and sizes neatly organized on shelves, maximizing visibility towards the central area. We aim for a comprehensive ambiance, light like a tent, precise like a motor.
The precise geometric design of the overhead structure integrates irregular site boundaries. LED strips beneath steel ribs outline radial patterns, extending from the center to the walls, emphasizing continuity and hinting at the spatial structure. Wall-mounted shelves create a sense of floating lightness, while customized shelving of varying lengths organizes products.
Under the overhead structure, the space feels free-flowing and continuous. Terrazzo flooring, infused with glass and metal aggregates, gleams subtly. Beneath tricky stairwells, negotiation areas are set up, with service counters and sample display areas opposite. Island-like display platforms of varying heights create a stage-like quality. Prominent screens and the brand logo occupy inclined walls flanking the entrance, along with a slightly inward tilt, complemented by the slightly upturned wing of the overhead structure, presenting an inviting spatial gesture.
We designed a precise, light, and bright Moovi Space to reflect the tech-savvy, sporty, and youthful brand ethos.
