Located on the island of Nosy Be, the site is a dream holiday location. The client, a globetrotter travelling the world for work, saw opportunity in this site to plant his roots in the private hillside.
The coastal site is surrounded by breath-taking views stretching from Madirokely to Ambondrona. The concept focusses on these views, key zones split into blocks which were then bent to focus on framing individual sight-lines. These blocks were then embedded into the natural slope of the hill, a solid material palette borrowed from the local environment grounding the scheme within the context.
In turn, the house becomes one with the landscape, extruding from the rock that it sits upon.
