The Oxnard Green Alleys Plan guides revitalization of Oxnard’s alleys for providing bicycle and pedestrian connections, improving stormwater quality, mitigating the urban heat island, creating open space for community recreation, and supporting local businesses.
The Plan will help the City of Oxnard identify suitable alleys for green alley projects as funding for implemen- tation becomes available. It provides a menu of design elements that can be selected with community input, and combined to meet the needs of individual projects. The Plan takes a graphic approach to communicating guide- lines, which helps City staff and citizens visualize the potential that their neglected alleyways possess for becoming amenities.
