The attic conversion of an extension to a Wilhelminian style house was accompanied by Julius Reimann from the shell to completion. In the process, the flat, which has a view of the Outer Alster and spans two houses, was divided into a loft-like ambience. All rooms and processes are tailored to the client and flow homogeneously into one another. The interior design concept is based on references from retail design and follows a solid materiality. In the loft, the walls themselves come to the fore as a design element and define the evolution from wall surface to wall body. Large openings between the kitchen and living room create a volume whose architectural effect is softened with individual pieces of furniture and a style-defining bar unit as a room divider. The unique design and the great freedom for Reimann Architecture were made possible by the deep trust between the clients and our team, and we are grateful for that. Only in this way was it possible to create something unique.

In a homage to futurism, German architect Julius Reimann oversaw the transformation of a loft extension in a Wilhelminian-style building from conception to completion. The apartment, with views of the Outer Alster river and spanning two buildings, was reimagined into a seamless loft environment - what some might deem the ultimate bachelor penthouse.

Within the loft, the walls transcend their traditional role, evolving into significant architectural elements. The Sentido design keypads function as miniature artworks, further elevating the walls into prominent architectural features. Their sleek lines seamlessly harmonise with the architect's vision of sharp, dynamic lines that interact with light, shadow and reflections throughout the design.

The interior design concept draws inspiration from retail aesthetics, focusing on a robust material palette. The choice of brushed black finish complements this robust selection of materials, adding a touch of dark sophistication that resonates throughout the space.
