Pinnacle Interiors has reached new heights of design and innovation within the vibrant Dubai Design District (d3). The premier hub where the design community converges as an extensive interactive creative network of global stakeholders and brands.
Following months of meticulous strategic planning and implementation of the stipulated criteria for LEED certification, comprising one year, whilst simultaneously maintaining a successful working office. We can proudly unveil our latest accomplishment—Pinnacle Design, this one-of-a-kind commercial office in Dubai Design District is accredited with a LEED Gold Certification by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and marks a significant milestone for Pinnacle Interiors.
This achievement reflects the team's unwavering passion and dedication, which is evident in our continuous success across diverse projects and pursuit of redefining contemporary interior design and construction. Underscored with our determination to feature innovation and sustainability to stay at the forefront of the ever-evolving design landscape in the UAE.
We are honoured to be awarded SUSTAINABLE COMMERCIAL PROJECT OF THE YEAR for our Pinnacle Design Office in 2024 by the Sustainability Innovation Forum & Awards, showcasing our commitment to the UAE vision of pioneering and driving innovative solutions and green technologies.
The 220 square meter space is designed to elevate staff engagement, optimise the natural light, and the scenic community views, and accommodate various work arrangements—from open-plan workstations to quiet work zones, a collaboration area, hot desking, and other multifunctional spaces, all aligned with the core value of "Minimalism."
At the heart of our design philosophy lies a deep-seated attentiveness to enhancing employee well-being and productivity. Every design choice is diligently curated to promote movement, comfort, and a sense of connection with nature. The biophilic design elements, such as abundant fresh indoor plants flourishing on the extensive natural light and natural materials, serve not only to beautify the space but also to improve air quality and provide a sense of tranquillity amidst the bustling urban landscape in d3. The concept is crafted to stimulate well-being and impact everyday positive emotions, inviting design enthusiasts to experience and engage with the space – a testament to the company’s creativity and practicality.
The workstations are equipped with height-adjustable desks to encourage movement and support ergonomic health among employees. We prioritised the needs of our occupants and have provided a workspace that not only inspires but also empowers individuals to reach their full potential. Multi-coloured acoustic panels, bespoke soft seating, and elegant furniture sourced from LEED and WELL brands, both locally and internationally, enhance the office's visual appeal and accentuate the ambiance.
From the outset, our team was steadfast in the pursuit of eco-conscious solutions. The designers and architects procured thoughtful material and furniture selections, featuring FSC-certified bespoke joinery, Kvadrat acoustic fabric panels, carpets manufactured by Shaw Contract, and durable LVT, showcasing the sustainable, Neolith-sintered bespoke stone surfaces and flooring integrated into the design concept and our obligation to sustainable manufacturers and their environmental impact. Paints and coatings, ceiling products, floorings, and other interior furnishings have low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) for better indoor environmental quality. The flooring systems used in the office are Floorscore and Green Label Plus-certified. All furniture installed is BIFMA-certified.
During the construction phase, we implemented rigorous waste management protocols, ensuring that 75% of the generated waste was either reused or recycled, thereby minimizing landfill contribution and resource depletion. A minimum of 80% of the building products used in the building are eco-friendly products with highly recycled content sourced and locally manufactured.
Moreover, our mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design prioritizes energy efficiency and occupant comfort, utilizing smart control units and sensors to optimize HVAC and lighting systems based on occupancy patterns. Resulting in an impressive 20% reduction in energy consumption compared to baseline models, setting a new benchmark for sustainable building operation in the region.
Water conservation is another cornerstone of our sustainable approach. By incorporating low-flow water fixtures, we've succeeded in reducing potable water consumption by at least 50%. Additionally, our adherence to best practices, such as the Construction Indoor Air Quality Management Plan (CIAQMP), ensures a healthy indoor environment for occupants, mitigating potential health risks associated with poor air quality during construction and beyond.
Our responsibility to resource conservation extends beyond the confines of the office space. The inclusion of a Quooker system, delivering boiling, cold, chilled, still, and sparkling water directly from the tap, not only eliminates the need for single-use plastic bottles but also encourages sustainable practices such as reusing and recycling materials. By encouraging a culture of environmental consciousness, we aim to inspire not only our team members but also the broader community to embrace sustainability as a way of life.
Our influence on sustainability extends through educational initiatives and community engagement efforts in our multifunctional collaboration and co-working space. We strive to inspire a broader industry audience and educate stakeholders on the importance of sustainable practices and emerging design trends. By hosting networking events associated with academia, along with like-minded organizations, we aim to build a culture of change and environmental consciousness.
