Melina Romano as Architects

What was the brief?
The first point we addressed was the resignification of luxury. Luxury used to be associated with materialgoods, today we see that luxury is about present time and moments. Therefore we created a refuge inside the city. A place where slowness is part of the guests experience.

What were the key challenges?
The project is a retrofit of a downtown hotel. During the survey, we found several challenges trying to modernize the space while maintaining its original structure.

What materials did you choose and why?
To create a contrast with concrete and gray colors of the city, we opted to use natural elements such as wood, stones and landscaping.
