Sigma’s new home for their staff contingent of over 500, saw them becoming the first occupants of a brand new office building which was completed at the beginning of this year.
For this project, we converted a single-story abundant warehouse structure into a triple story, triple A-grade office building.
Originally designed as part of a greater Campus for another tenant who no longer required it, we had the task of restructuring the floors into a standalone office complex that would be tailored to the needs of our BPO client.

Coinciding with the big office move, Sigma also underwent a brand refresh which gave us the opportunity to ensure that their revised corporate identity and culture came to life in their new workspace.
The primary focus of the Sigma fit-out was to design a contact centre environment that was flexible and dynamic in order to respond to the growth and needs across the business units and floors. It was also imperative that the workspace adhered strictly to Covid-19 protocol, while still remaining functional, flexible and scalable.

The largely open-plan spaces are visually enhanced through a light-flooded triple volume atrium which connects the beautiful and green exterior surrounds, directly to the internal spaces across all floors.
Existing build structure and furniture were redesigned and adapted to suit Sigma’s specific requirements, namely of an open-plan focused environment and centralised management hub. Sigma’s corporate values were organically integrated into the common areas, adding a vibrant and energetic aesthetic across the contact centre.
The semi-industrial character of the building added a unique look and feel and our design approach was to complement this key feature.

The dynamically shaped desks were designed to create a spacious, team-orientated cluster environment that is in accordance with Covid-19 regulations.
Consistency across all floors allows for a high level of flexibility to reshuffle business units around an inner core of meeting spaces, circulation, and services. This approach ensured an abundance of natural light intake throughout the office environment.

Complimenting the finishes at Sigma, a neutral and light colour pallet also allows visual space for multiple business units on operational floors.
Bold accents of corporate colour which feature in both the meeting and common areas, bring the brand and culture of Sigma into the workspace.

Full height performance glazing at Sigma offers views from any corner of the office, connecting the interiors directly with the surrounding foliage and mountain views.
The combination of volume, exposed roof structures, services, face brick, glazing details and customised joinery link the contemporary and industrial interiors to what is a unique and inviting experience both for the Sigma workforce and guests visiting the premises.

Sigma's new home represents the creation of a modern BPO environment that sets a new standard by being a fresh, welcoming, and inclusive multi-layered office space.
The workspace was created with the company's ideologies at the heart of the design thinking, embracing and communicating Sigma’s core message of “always learning, always together, always better and always adapting”.
