Sliding Box The Hague

Dutch Roof Design as Sliding Box

The sliding box slides open with the push of a button. Unlike a hinged roof hatch, there is extra headroom standard here due to the height. Because of the glass panels at the top and the front, the light in the house is sublime. The height of the box can also be custom determined.

Natural daylight for a pleasant living environment
That natural daylight plays an important role can be seen in the architects’ other solutions. Facades have been swapped for ceiling-high windows that bring daylight deep into the building. In the project photos, it is easy to see what a nice atmosphere daylight brings to the home. There is also a nice balance of minimalist design and antique furniture and artwork.

Sun protection for hot days
The specially tailored blinds are electrically operated. The light is nicely filtered on warm days. It fits nicely with the minimal design of the sliding box.

The glass of the Sliding Box already has very good heat-resistant performance itself, due to the argon-filled cavity and the glass type. The blinds provide additional heat protection. In addition, ‘black out’ fabric can even be used to truly black out a bedroom, for example.
