Shape to feel the earth

MAKOTO TAKEI CHIE NABESHIMA / TNA as Architects

There is the grand nature and an olive field spreads out around the site.

It takes three hours by a car from Barcelona.

This area is not served with electricity and gas.

Approach is the unpaved farm road from main road.

The site is completely separated from the city life.

There are no artifacts in this place at all.

In such a place , the architecture needs a shape not only does not oppose to nature but also does not assimilate into nature.

If you want to feel familiar nature, it is important to reduce the distance between the nature.

This building is the form of inverted a triangular pyramid.

And it has a small point of contact with the earth by making foundation smaller.

While preserving the environment on the ground, this building will expand the building towards the sky.

This building makes big sun shadows in strong sunlight in the smmer.

It also makes shadow at night with a full moon and you can feel the moonlight.

This building is made of only concrete using the local sand.

Diagonal wall becomes a shelf, stairs and so on.

There is a pool at the center on the rooftop.

You can look out over 360 panoramic view of the nature when you swim in the pool.

This architecture is the shape to feel the earth
