Japanese-inspired teahouse, custom-built using Douglas Fir and traditional woodworking techniques. Working with a small footprint, this space was designed to provide the client with expanse while maintaining the intimacy of micro spaces. Multi-tiered landscaping was used to create depth and indicate unique and differentiated spaces. A large portion of the design concept was based on the client's daughter's dream for a treehouse space. This garden was transformed from a small, unusable outside, to an extension of their living space. This space was designed to play with light and create a sense of magic.
