"I love, you love, we all love books!" That was the mantra from the very first meeting and our bond was sealed between the pages of books that we all read. The family was moving from a bungalow to a spacious apartment in a  luxury gated condominium. Their wish list was long : space for two teenage sons, two sets of elderly parents, a home office, a family room, a den, a generous living and dining area and of course, shelving space for their ever growing collection of books.

The layout was seminal to the flow - tucking away private areas, opening up public spaces and maximising the incredible view of the golf course seen from the wrap around balconies. Every nook and cranny mattered.  Next came the material - Michaelangelo marble in milky shades of clotted cream, swirled with gentle notes of honey ran from the private lift lobby through long passages that connect the home. Engineered wooden floors swirl a little coffee through the honey and the millwork is once again in Oak timber.

The fireplace surround in the formal living room was born from the wastage of two milky stones , arranged in a pattern that makes it seem tailor made for the room. The bar on the opposite end of the same room is framed in one of the milky stones and the facia is clad in slim handmade biscuits of ivory ceramic, a quiet play of texture. Plaster, gauze, glazed ceramic, brushed velvet, add further texture to the living area. Riffing off the ivory milk are notes of ember charcoal, nude cashmere and the dusty blue of the sky outside.  Lighting as usual, was an important player.

The dining room has one of our favorite lights from Bover that glows like a beacon calling you home.  The doors were a labour of love - from timber doors with a fine ivory detail, to doors that seem to be made of a lattice of timber and glass. Personal touches run throughout the home, from the wall with the collection of masks collected by the clients, to the coffee table we created specially for their sons using a large scale lego model of the Millenium Falcon, from Star Wars.
