The Garden of The Polish Radio Kielce

GDAK STUDIO as Landscape Architects

The aim of the transformation of the area adjacent to the Kielce branch of Polish Radio was to create a functional and relaxing space, designed for both station employees and visitors alike. The Garden of The Polish Radio Kielce project not only provides a place for leisure but also serves as a venue for meetings and cultural events.

Garden Beds and Seating:

As part of the creation of the new Garden of The Polish Radio Kielce, various elements of small architecture were installed, seamlessly integrated into the surroundings. New benches and seats surrounding the flower beds invite visitors to spend a little longer in the garden, amidst the relaxing greenery. One of the distinctive elements of the Garden of The Polish Radio Kielce is the flower beds made of prefabricated architectural concrete panels, planted with blooming perennials and ornamental grasses.

The irregular forms of the flower beds diversify the space, serving not only a functional purpose but also an aesthetic one. Wooden benches complement the austerity of the concrete, adding a rustic charm to the modern structure. The plantings were carefully chosen to ensure the garden remains aesthetically pleasing for much of the year. The entire area is heavily sunlit, which also influenced the selection of species resistant to high temperatures and drought.

The Relaxation Pavilion:

The central point of the new Garden of The Polish Radio Kielce is the pavilion, primarily serving a recreational function and accentuating the landscape qualities of the entire area. Its structure, composed of three rectangular modules, is surrounded by movable horizontal blinds, adding character and elegance to the entire construction. Thanks to the use of blinds, the interior of the pavilion is sheltered from wind and rain, significantly enhancing its functionality.

In front of the Media Education Center, the flower beds create an inviting entrance area for visitors, giving the impression of a pleasant invitation to explore further corners of the garden. Pathways to the various sections of the Garden of The Polish Radio Kielce are delineated by paths made of wide concrete slabs, which correspond to the flower beds.
