The Nature Conservancy in Colorado wanted to reimagine their existing 16,000-square foot interior environment and create a modern workplace that embraces a sense of mission, hope, urgency, and achievement. They collaborated with the Stantec team to create a space that reflected the local community.
Situated in the heart of Boulder, the office is located within walking distance of several restaurants and shops and is easily accessed from the bus route and e-bike station in the park adjacent to the building.
Stantec designers drew inspiration from The Nature Conservancy’s 70 years of commitment to sustainability. The design includes natural and artificial lighting, natural features, and a wellness room to support employee well-being.
The interior design reflects the Rocky Mountain backdrop and supports a range of working styles. The new space offers mobile and nesting conference tables and chairs, a room reservation system, and a variety of furnishings for different spaces to encourage people to move throughout the building. Employees have both visual and physical access to the natural environment and the Boulder community.
The stairwell features a colorful three-story mural of the iconic Boulder flatirons. The stairwell is a great connector through the three-story office building. It is completely visible from the exterior through the glass curtain wall, which offers ample natural daylight and views of the outdoors from the inside.
