The Challenge
TransferWise wanted an office true to their motto – “Be Without Borders”, with a uniquely Singaporean twist as the regional hub in Asia Pacific. An open-plan “office without borders” was conceptualized, and various spaces needed to be carefully designed where staff can be empowered to work best independently or autonomously in teams.
The Solution
Both quiet and shared spaces were created, allowing staff the freedom of choice to work where they are most comfortable. These spaces featured local themes such as Chinatown, Little India and Arab Street, with kopitiam (traditional coffee shop) style furniture replacing conventional meeting room furniture, bringing out the prominent local culture of food and heritage in Singapore.
