As a part of the new "Donado-Holmberg" district, an urban project developed by the local government which introduces a "linear park" into the area where the former AU3 highway was supposed to be built, this housing project incorporates into it’s apartments several elements and details from single-family houses.

This nine unit building offers two different typologies (one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments) organized in triplex.

For the unit’s ground floor, each of them includes a private garage that can store up to two cars.

Alternatively, this space can also be used as a place to set up a private studio, gym or office.

On the first floor, visitors can encounter themselves with a split-level living/dinning room area with integrated kitchen and a large terraced-balcony.

Additionally, a concrete based staircase is located within the living/dinning room area to gain access to the upper floor.

On the second floor, both typologies interact as interlocking volumes, in order to generate a double-height space for the smaller typology that connects the living room with the bedroom/workspace.

This concrete “floating” volume, which can be perceived from inside, contrast with a 2,80 m by 2,00 m double-sided glass, generating a singular spatiality within the apartment.

The interlocking also leads to a small patio for the two-bedroom units that connect to the terrace with a exterior metallic staircase.

Finally, on the last floor, each unit has a 25 to 30 sqm terrace, which provides the perfect private open space for social gatherings, family barbecues and recreation.

The use of high quality materials for the facade, such as wood, glass, aluminum and smooth-look concrete finished in contrast with the black single-layer mortar reinforces the idea of the “interlocked volumes”.
