Self-Mapping through Topological Editing

L'EAU Design as Architects

The six mulberries were grown by the father over a 40 year period, and which boast a graceful form to the extent that they were designated as protected trees and are the pride of the region. Although there are many species of trees here, monuments to the previous achievements of the town and reminders of antiquity which have maintained their unique natural characteristics in the town, as the migratory complex plan proceeds, they are slowly disappearing.

There is strong volition in the character of the architect, determined to preserve these traditional trees, old symbols and standing oaks cultivated with sweat and care. As well there is the desire to preserve the old stories that envelop the old houses and to show exemplary cases reflecting the town's migratory complex, which from now on will be more rigorously arranged. The excavation and re-illumination of Yangju Songchu’s history will be the seed for stories written anew.

Songchu farm yet guards a hidden master plan besides more demure and thoughtful objectives.

Over the long view, the architectural structure of this land can be mapped by itself, by way of need via topological editing. Thus an open preparation to implement various programs for the future will be more important than the development of temporary construction into large scale architecture according to planned usage.

Regional culture and art network establishment open stratum arrangement.

An architectural strategy will be necessary to develop potential space that can continuously contain things, rather than being fixed physically, so as to utilize the networks between the varied cultural elements of the town as a basis for establishing the town's regional character.

Marketing a special stress free place for quiet strolls

With the desire and volition that the architect wishes to achieve here, marketing this new place as an artistic and cultural space for urban dwellers seeking cultural recreation to get away from busy city living will be ideal.

Narrative Frame for sympathy of action

The town's fence formerly delineated its boundary and defined property ownership. Its role now has been improved to create a new resting place for locals and visitors.
