Yugen, as a specialized multi-brand for hiking and mountaineering footwear, seeks to create a symbolic form in its first store that serves as an identity marker, paving the way for its future branches. This interior space, grounded in the principles of minimalism and a commitment to using minimal materials and forms, not only distinguishes the store among its peers but also establishes a solid and unique position in the minds of its audience.

Yugen's first step into the market, akin to the first step toward conquering an untouched peak, has inspired the interior design of the space. As such, the anatomy of the foot in an upward motion has been reimagined through simple metal folds, forming the structure that frames the shoe display throughout the store. This structure, accentuated in green as a symbol of nature, stands out from the other elements of the space.
In the overall section of the store, sloping planes not only evoke mental images of mountains but, through the use of gravel and metal materials, embody a sense of resilience and strength—metaphors for the durability and stability of Yugen's footwear in challenging natural conditions. The combination of colors and materials within the interior space vertically reconstructs nature, transitioning from plains to peaks, representing various elevations and the steadfastness of nature.
Ultimately, Yugen’s store aims to communicate the concepts of sustainability and identity directly and purely through the expression of the simplest yet most powerful forms.
Our design approach seeks to establish an enduring connection between the power of nature and the beauty of functionality.
