The refurbishment of the townhouse is characterized by the custom-made kitchen and the bathroom on the top floor. Using the existing lowered part of the old kitchen, the new kitchen stands as a large block in the middle of the space between the lower part and the normal floor height, where there was first a wall with the closed kitchen in the lower part. On the side of the dining table, the kitchen has an unusual height which leads to the advantage of a clear view over the kitchen and the possibility to sit on the large stainless steel worktop. A part of a well designed new residential development in Cluj‘s suburbs, this house comes from the start with a good functional layout. Due to this, the interior design adjusted well to the space of the house, improving it’s usability. The requirements of the owners were the functionality of a simple way of life, a budget investment and a modern approach that would create a cosy home. To combine these aspects in the design we used the warmth of wood in a balanced combination with the walls and ceilings’ luminous white and the grays of linoleum and the decorative tiles. These principles were developed in all the spaces of the house, of which the living room is yet to be completed.  Mais
