Deauville Terminal Saint-Gatien-des-Bois

At a time when, despite growing environmental awareness, air traffic is once again on the rise, we believe it is essential to rethink how airport mobility programs are designed.  How can terminals be conceived to set new standards in resource and energy management? This is the core ambition of the Deauville terminal. Prioritizing timber and bio-based materials for both its exterior envelope and interior finishes, the terminal features a finely calibrated energy management system that adjusts in real time to actual occupancy.  It also reimagines the traveler's experience by returning to the simplicity of early terminals, where passengers and aircraft shared the same ground level. Technical frugality and reduced system complexity... More

Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya

The Ayodhya Airport Integrates the Historic City’s Heritage Into the Architecture At the main entrance of Ayodhya Airport, a grand stepped shikar stands tall, adorned with brass. This architectural masterpiece follows the Nagara style, outlined with scriptures, presenting a majestic and culturally rich welcome to passengers. The city’s heritage and story unfold through intricate columns, each laden with profound symbolism. The mega columns supporting the terminal roof symbolise the Kandas of Ramayana, blending cultural richness into the airport's architecture. The Khandika, symbolising impermanence, coexists with the Deva Gana Patta, embodying divine features. Every column narrates a story of dedication, courage, and spirituali... More

DFW Terminal C High C Gates

The Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and American Airlines (AA) stakeholders have recently moved towards a design of DFW’s Terminal C High C gates. The previous trailer solution that temporarily housed these gates for 40 years was recently demolished. Corgan is responsible for the interior finish-out of this project for AA. Kurt Griesbach Kurt Griesbach This facility is being constructed partially off-site, in prefabricated modules for the concourse level. Then modules are transported to the site for installation. Finally, the general contractor for interior finish-out will have access to begin interior construction efforts. Kurt Griesbach Kurt Griesbach More

A New Air Terminal for the Rouyn-Noranda Airport

Located in the heart of Canada’s boreal forest, the Cadillac-Larder Fault is a major geologic feature that cuts across Quebec’s Abitibi-Témiscamingue region and into Northern Ontario. It is the source of the region’s abundant mineral resources, and several major settlements were established along its length to engage in mining and forestry. One such settlement is the City of Rouyn-Noranda. Established in 1926, the city is said to occupy a space "between fault and forest", to borrow a phrase from a historical guide of the city’s rural quarters. Maxime Brouillet Maxime Brouillet Given Rouyn-Noranda’s unique geography, the new air terminal serves not only to increase the city’s visibility a... More

Tiruchirappalli International Airport New Terminal

The design for Tiruchirappalli Airport creates a powerful architectural symbol for the state of Tamil Nadu.   The design for Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) International Airport fuses references from the city’s local heritage and culture with a contemporary palette of materials to create a unique sense of place and identity.   The expressive roof form and multi-layered facade take inspiration from the geometry, textures and colours of Trichy’s traditional temple architecture. Generous natural light and lush landscaped gardens bring a calming backdrop to the expansive forecourt and arrivals concourse, which lead to the streamlined passenger processing facilities and departures lounge.   Climatic constraints, local...
