A disused train station is transformed into a hotel with restaurant and an events space. This wine tasting and regional food store is the refurbishment of the warehouse of an old train station. the building's facades were in very poor condition and the roof was nonexistent. the bold strategy came from reflecting on whether it made sense to remake the past or rethink the future while respecting the past. the proposal is a symbiosis between the past and the future, based on the restoration of the façades and on a new roof inspired by the volumes of traditional Alentejo chimneys and materialized with a contemporary material that is concrete. FdP house features sustainable Kebony wood to complement the Portuguese landscape

Featuring clean, sleek lines, the FdP house integrates into Alentejo’s landscape by incorporating materials such as Kebony wood, which blends with the surrounding native colours and complements the morphology of the natural landscape. Woodtarget Architect Gonçalo Bonniz explains that chromatic integration was a key concept of the design. Alongside Kebony wood, materials used to achieve chromatic harmony include multicoloured slate in shades of grey and brown and concrete with a grey pigment. Porto Covo

Porto Covo is an interior design project for a guesthouse in Porto Covo, Alentejo. The project aims to emphasize the characteristics of the place and its relation to the surroundings. It is intended to provide the guest with a unique experience associated with the beauty and tranquility of the Alentejo’s landscape, therefore we used natural, local materials and crafts typical from Alentejo. The house is located in Vilamoura, municipality of Loulé, one of the most touristic places in Algarve and one of the top vacation destinations of the Portuguese. Set in a neighbourhood of single-family houses, the project focused on an existing building dating from the 80s and on which it was proposed an intervention aimed at expansion and adaptation to a new program.
