Casa Sotto La Nuvola

In the design of Casa Sotto La Nuvola, the architectural approach prioritized a reconstructive renovation that does not strictly follow the preexisting structure. medullastudiomedulla While the project may seem relatively straightforward from a typological standpoint, it posed significant challenges regarding landscape integration. Tuscany is renowned for its stunning hilly landscape, and the building was designed to minimize its visual impact on the historic Via Francigena that runs nearby. The project's dominant direction and focus align perpendicularly to the hillside ridge, following a natural north-south axis. medullastudiomedulla The architectural design was guided by specific criteria, including: ·  total imm... Retrofitting Milanese Film

In the recent years in Milan has arisen the need to recover buildings that are no longer efficient or adequate, totally altering the original plant. Recovering what already exists by improving their environmental performance with retrofitting actions is a sustainable choice because it saves the territory, which is a non-renewable and very limited resource. In these terms, the film illustrates two projects by the Milan Studio Park Associati. La SerenissimaThis building, designed in 1962 for Campari firm by the Soncini brothers could have been considered modern and technologically advanced for its time. Building make-up

Make-up of a building of the 60s used as a business for the sale and exhibition of furniture and furnishings. Simple vertical and horizontal lines become the main theme of this restructuring, alternating in a game of verticality and linearity that brings the building back to life with a non-invasive restyling. The wide front wall with facing bricks remains almost unaltered from the intervention, on which large white sun bricks rise up, accentuating the verticality concealing the existing openings without eliminating the light. The upper part binds to the underlying one thanks to vertical elements in painted aluminum that follow the lines, and then develop horizontally in the gray base, highlighting the large showroom windows, joined t...
