Christie's Art Warehouse

GKD provides suitable building shell with architectural metal mesh. Christie's auction house operates a storage facility for art and exclusive objects such as jewelry and wine at the Singapore Free Port. The entire building is clad in Omega 1520 architectural mesh, the weft wires of which are coated in a dark golden color. To ensure that the outer shell of the warehouse is in keeping with the valuable goods stored inside, the architects from 3BM3 in Geneva clad the building using 211 mesh elements with a total area of 4,600 m². The ends of the mesh were curved to create loops, which were then used to attach the material. More

Jane Hope Residence

Exemplifying the versatility of Banker Wire’s architectural mesh in residential applications, designer and homeowner Jane Hope, incorporated an antique plated SZ-3 wire mesh within the design of her custom fireplace. Thoughtfully selected for its unique semi-transparent characteristics, the metal mesh compliments the honest, raw material design, creating a feature that is instantly recognized for its sleek form and striking aesthetic. Because the fireplace is the focal point in the center of the space, Jane Hope was looking for a material that would allow the light to pass through the top portion of the unit, while maintaining a similar visual heft that the other materials in the room—wood, concrete and stone—provide. She... More

Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers

The student residence of the E.N.S.A.M. (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers) in Talence, near Bordeaux, received an external stair tower with a facade cladding made of HAVER Architectural Mesh. It was a part of the modernization works to meet the latest fire protection regulations.   For the cladding of the stair tower BBCR architectes chose the HAVER Architectural Mesh EGLA-DUO 4262. Thanks to the combination of flat wires and the plain form of the round wires, the metal mesh has a particularly homogeneous appearance, which reflects the light very nicely.    Due to its inherent stability, the EGLA-DUO wire mesh is especially suitable for robust façade designs as well as balustrades and gu... Pointe à Pitre Palace of Justice

Traditionally large and thick as if to express force and power, the walls of the Courthouse in Pointe-à-Pitre evoke openness and transparency. In this way, the building challenges the ice-cold popular image of courts with an apparent warmth, an immediate readability of its forms, and a liberation from the authoritarian codes of judicial architecture.   Built in continuity with the urban fabric and the principal alignments of the city, the Courthouse adapts to its relationship with other buildings in Pointe-à-Pitre. The colours used in the project come from the chromatic environment of Pointe-à- Pitre and in particular from the Prefecture building that faces it, while the varying light reflecting from the aluminum... Chandon Australia

Iconic method traditionelle producer Chandon Australia was due a cellar door rejuvenation that matched the caliber of its offering and heritage. Conceptually marrying the winery's French origins with its new-world locale, we created a new brand-immersion across retail, bar, tasting and dining.   Our brief was to overhaul the site with a tight focus on customer brand experience. However, the budget demanded that the voluminous architecture with barrel-vaulted ceilings be retained, requiring subtle management of acoustics and considered demarcation of zones. The original layout of the site was disjointed, resulting in a chaotic atmosphere. This meant that on busy weekends, visitors were typically staying for just a quick, half-hour tas... More
