Inside

Inside is a home that does not reveal more than necessary to the outside world. It is restrained and minimalist, with clean lines and a monolithic geometry. At the same time, it feels open and inviting, thanks to warm tones and natural textures. The name of the house embodies its philosophy: true beauty and harmony unfold from within, in every detail and every element of the interior. Bezmirno Architects Bezmirno Architects Concept The idea behind the Inside house project, developed by the BEZMIRNO architectural studio, was to design a layout where, on a relatively compact plot, all functional zones and the building itself could accommodate the needs of a large family. The minimalist facade with a corten steel fence, the combina... More

Rumah Biru

Anthony Adi   Planned at the start of the pandemic when lockdown started happening and when people should stay at home. The owner of Rumah Biru wanted to build a house where the residents would not feel the need to get out of the house for vacation. Inspired by the famous vacation destination, the owner wanted to feel like he lived in Santorini. The challenge was how to make a house what made in Greece still contextual within a residential area in a tropical climate city. The simplicity, whitewashed cubical form with rounded corners that Cycladic Houses have implemented for the house. Casa Boa Esperança

Casa Boa Esperanca is a historic landmark building perched on the edge of a small promontory in the fishing village of Ferragudo, Algarve, Southern Portugal. Due to local planning policies, several restrictions were placed on the building. This led to the need for a careful and sensitive approach to the restoration. The concept consisted primarily of the installation of new timber structures within the existing walls. This solution enabled open spaces to be created within the existing footprint and views of the sea to be greatly enhanced. The new structural elements of the renovation were left exposed and a large studio space was created within the former roof void. The building is flooded with light due to the insertion of several ro... More

Casa dos Abraços

Archilovers Best Project winner. Casa dos Abraços is situated in the fishing village of Ferragudo, Algarve, Southern Portugal.  The historic centre of Ferragudo is an extremely sensitive area to work and we believe that our intervention should be balanced harmonious and above all integrated with the surrounding architecture. The plot is embraced by an alley. The studio decided to explore the concept following this movement.  The exterior walls of the building follow the irregular shape of the alley as a consequence of the embracing gesture.  The interiors reflect this movement which is enhanced by the strategic positioning of the staircase achieving fluidity and openness throughout the building. Connection To ta... More

Casa Vale da Lapa

A remodel of a white detached villa with a sea view in Algarve. Casa Vale da Lapa is a project which remodels and extends a 1980s detached villa with sea views and is located in the Algarve, Southern Portugal.  The concept transformed the existing architecture and internal layout into a contemporary and open plan style.  The creation of a vast double-height entrance space with a ‘floating’ staircase adds drama to the previously uninspiring house.  The removal of several internal walls produced a series of flexible and fluid spaces which have strong physical connections to the beautiful garden and sea views beyond. Ultramarino, the in-house interior design element of the studio designed the interior concept: d... More
