What happens when educational spaces extend beyond campus walls and deeply integrate with an old neighborhood? In Chengdu’s Yulin district, POLUS International College collaborated with nnm+ architects to transform an old residential building into an experimental teaching complex — C-SCHOOL. Brutal minimalism in its natural form is how this project of our studio can be described. The 68 m2 apartment is located in Rostov-on-Don and is designed for a couple with two cats. Inna Kablukova From a cramped three-room apartment, the team designed a spacious two-room apartment with an unusual dressing room made of a new material - silicate transparent brick. The hotel part consists of six buildings, which contain 564 hotel units - rooms and apartments. Dynamic terrain and plot configuration set basic volumes of architecture: we can see two levels of uncluttered silhouette from the street and all four levels with stairs and terraces from the yard. The renovation of the Larus apartment was guided by the confidence of the residents. They gave us the key and gave us complete freedom to do our job. With carte blanche, we analyzed the profile of the residents and began to match the DOBLLE aesthetic to the tastes of those who had hired us. The main point was to execute a 40m² project on a low budget. Lovers of the minimalist style, the couple of owners wanted an apartment with as much integration as possible, light colors, natural textures and plenty of vegetation. Chaptal Residence is located in a historical building in the 9th district of Paris, in the heart of Nouvelle Athènes neighborhood.   The late 19th century apartment which remained untouched for more than six decades is a 150m² property composed of a spacious living room, an open kitchen, two bathrooms, a laundry room, a walk-in wardrobe, two bedrooms and an office space.   The apartment was renovated and restored as a contemporary residence while maintaining its authentic features and fabric as the wall and ceiling moldings, the main structural division and its generous height.   The apartment owner is a young couple that recently moved to Paris from London.
