CCE House

#1_ SITE The project is situated in Chacras de Coria, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza, within a semi-urban setting of low-rise housing, vineyards and poplar trees that defines the cultural landscape of the Greater Mendoza foothills. The house — 170 m² developed on a single level — emerges from the desire to create an introverted refuge that engages with its context through a logic of containment and controlled openness. The condition of the plot boundary is resolved by a continuous perimeter wall of exposed reinforced concrete that runs the full length of the building line. The texture of the concrete, with its visible formwork marks, lends the ensemble an honest, quiet and austere material presence towards the street. Acce... More

Le village Rene

The house is built in the city of Cañada de Gómez, Santa Fe, Argentina, within the Pro.Cre.Ar housing plan. Within the lot to intervene we find three pre-existing houses on the first floor. The studio designs and builds the 4th house, which together form a mini urban village in the city, hence its name: Le Village René. With the intention of lowering costs, the search of the project was to spatially resolve the house with the least amount of divisions possible. The materiality of the house was resolved with common 15 cm brick walls and a package of thermal insulation on the inside, consisting of glass wool and phenolic wood panels finishing. arq. walter salcedo arq. walter salcedo arq. walter salcedo a... Vivienda PH Boris

PH Boris is the transformation of a classic residential typology in Buenos Aires. This architecture, very common in the city, was characterized by solving a set of housing units that share the same land and access. Each one of them gained natural ventilation and lighting through internal patios while its rooms were defined by fragmented spaces. The design proposal aims to rethink these characteristics as an opportunity to create a central space that would improve the versatility of the environments. Federico Cairoli To achieve this idea, the first step was to remove the walls separating the social areas from the central patio, seamlessly integrating the non-private spaces into a single environment with expansive views. This required n... More

Cabin 192

Do or RedoFifty years later, a house no longer meets the demand for which it was created. If, then, we must choose between transforming an existing suburban house or building a new one, there is an ethical question that surpasses the merely economic equation. As architects we must rethink the impact that generates replacing a piece where it can be refunctionalized. And that decision comes prior to the project.Having then made the decision to readapt a construction, the search was oriented towards a structure that was as basic as possible, which would allow a certain freedom for a programmatic readjustment. An existing house was then chosen, made up of a pure brick volume with a gable roof, with a 9 x 9 square geometric plan, and two adjacen... More

Argentine architecture is a vivid mosaic rooted in a fusion of European influences, indigenous traditions, and modernist interpretations. From the bustling streets of Buenos Aires to the rugged charm of Patagonia's remote structures, every built form dictates a unique narrative of Argentina's past and present. The legacy of Spanish colonialism is palpable in the ornate facades of buildings found in cities like Córdoba and Salta, where Baroque and neoclassical designs prevail, echoing a past era of opulence. The 1930s brought a shift in the urban landscape with the emergence of Art Deco intertwined with European modernism, showcasing an adaptation towards streamlined forms, geometric designs, and utilization of new materials. Casa SM - Madrid

Near to Madrid, in the Pantano de San Juan the SM House is located. The land is characterized not only by being located in front of the reservoir but by having a steep slope, with several stones and large trees, which allows an impressive view of it. In order not to interfere with the environment, the one-story house is perched on pillars, playing with interior slopes to accommodate the terrain, and generating interior patios that allow occupying the space between the trees, embracing the large rocks and focusing the views of all the enclosures. towards the swamp. To distribute the interior rooms, 3 volumes are projected, one that corresponds to the master bedroom and which takes advantage of the bathroom and walking closet to separate the r... Root House

The house is located in a closed neighborhood in the northern side of Buenos Aires and is implanted in a 940 m2 lot. At the back of it there is a navigable canal that leads to the Lujan River. This strongly natural feature and the desire of the client to have a permeable house, closely linked to the environment, were the starting points for the project. We imagine then that the house could behave like a root that is taking possession of the land. A linear element, that bifurcates, goes up or down depending on the obstacles that wants to avoid or the objectives to follow during the growing process. Therefore, the architecture appears in this lot as a living element that will deformed according to the needs of the program or seeking to maxim... More
