The house is built in the city of Cañada de Gómez, Santa Fe, Argentina, within the Pro.Cre.Ar housing plan. Within the lot to intervene we find three pre-existing houses on the first floor. The studio designs and builds the 4th house, which together form a mini urban village in the city, hence its name: Le Village René. With the intention of lowering costs, the search of the project was to spatially resolve the house with the least amount of divisions possible. The materiality of the house was resolved with common 15 cm brick walls and a package of thermal insulation on the inside, consisting of glass wool and phenolic wood panels finishing.

We took advantage of the studio's previous knowledge and experience in the construction of interior finishes, stairs, furnishings and railings, leaving only the outer shell of masonry and the roof, which require specialized labor. Although it is a small house of 60 m2 and with a very limited program, the location of each of the rooms was studied so that there is a fluid but controlled space, respecting intimacy. The project takes as a challenge to naturalize the unevenness produced between the existing roofs.

This 1.45 m difference in level allows for particular views from the interior to the terrace, leaving the eye at the level of the exterior floor and expanding the interior views on the terrace attached to the house. The design of the terrace enclosure responds to a structural issue by generating a folded sheet that allows it to rise in height or length without the need to generate vertical reinforcements, elements that were to be avoided. The façade design is related to the neighborhood and its pre-existing dwellings, taking external references to fit in with its surroundings.
