The client’s brief was to design a shopping complex on a very prominent and busy road in a tight urban site in Gandhi Nagar near railway station and Bus stand, Bangalore. The challenge was attracting and offering an experience of sophisticated street shopping to various genre of people, from villager to an urban dweller. At RMD Apartment, we have diligently designed spacious 2BHK and 3bhk apartments. The apartments have the living space opening out to balcony for allowing fresh breezes inside the house. The client envisaged the luxurious retail space for premium salon furniture. The retail store was about 1800 sft with column right in the centre of the store. The designers took advantage of the central radical element, which spells bound the spatial organisation in a circular pattern, hence the circular pattern in ceiling and flooring. The circular ceiling with level differences and accentuated with blue colour lights gives a feel of expanse and fluidity. The minimalistic design has a color palette predominantly of white, broken with wooden finish. the mirror used on one wall doubles the volume of space and gives the grandeur feel for the space. More
