Situated in Aroneanu, Iasi county, the Office Court Haus building is the architectural office’s answer to the client’s formulated demand: “ We own a 2500 sqm site, would it be possible for you to come up with a business idea in the form of a project that would include office spaces, an IT research center and four penthouse apartments of approximately 150-200 sqm, like a three floors building?”. Situated in Bucharest, near the Politehnica student campus, the small apartment was designed to accomodate future students or a young family. The apartment’s initial layout was maintained, two rooms and an enclosed kitchen, one bathroom, and the design requirements were budget oriented and fast build time. The lack of natural light and tight space dictated that the walls and the furniture should be white for optimal light bounce and creating the sensation of a larger space. Placed in Bucharest, in a new building complex, the interior design of the small size apartment, only 48 sqm , was a challenge for the architectural office of fulfilling the young ocupants demands: “welcoming, fully-functional and budget oriented”. Seeking efficient solutions for designing the small size interiors, the architecture office insistened that the general mood should be similar to the Scandinavian style for a better general atmosphere, that lacked natural light. Three times “heart”- the center of life, the core soul of #space and #life has been the key aspect for the interior design concept of a three-room apartment situated in #Bucharest. The #apartment center is represented by the generous living room, that encourages communication and common activities between family-members and friends. The cromatics are inspired by #scandinavian design: neutral tones of grey of the couch/floor and the white walls are carefully tinted by the color pallete of #books, of the oak bar, of the #chairs and #accesories as #yellow-mustard, black but as well as wooden oak accents of the floor. In a socially divisive society, the reinterpretation of the usual functions of the house works to offer distinctive living separating the spaces to their own clusters in a way that helps the user focus on specific tasks and views. The concept is meant to divide the traditional living spaces where all functions are associated in one volumetric shape. Intended as an exercise of utopian future house, or present rental home, re(retreat) house has to maintain the simple aspects of every space.
