CASA 2+1
In a 1950s residential complex in the urban core of Trieste, the project renovates a compact 60-square-meter apartment. The original layout—characterized by rigid compartmentalization and disproportionate room dimensions—proved difficult to adapt to contemporary living. At the same time, the apartment benefited from a favorable position that allowed generous natural ventilation and daylight, qualities that became the starting point for a more open and connected spatial organization.

In the original layout, kitchen and services were placed in the central part of the apartment. This setting has been completely overturned, leaving space for a living area in continuity with the kitchen, while the bathroom and bedroom have been moved to the two sides of the apartment.

The project of the interiors of [bu:r] was born from the intense collaboration with the Chef Eugenio Boer. The deep and constant confrontation made by research and mutual contamination gave birth to a place characterized by a strong link with the Chef’s personality, cuisine and history. The spaces, articulated to be flexible, are designed to offer intimate and welcoming environment, in constant balance between innovation and tradition. The use of techniques and raw materials typical of Italian culture, reinterpreted in an unusual way, refers to Boer’s training path across the peninsula and his attention to tradition, while enhancing the Chef’s innovative and unconventional spirit.

Casa Rospigliosi
A 1950s residence, surrounded by a park in San Siro district, is the context of this renovation. Located on the edge of the urban fabric of Milan, the complex reflects the urbanity of the city and the vastness of the rural spaces.
To echo the stadium and its raw tectonics, the building reveals its concrete structure on the ground floor, which is however denied inside the apartments, under layers of masonry and plaster. To make the building's structure resurface immediately seemed like an idea capable of giving a specific identity to the space, in an intervention, where the desire was to join two separate apartments.
