The office P8 is part of a 5 story building that once accomodated just one company. After the company bankruptcy it was divided in smaller offices and sold. The floorplan of the whole story was an open space with no walls, the offices were divided just with office cabinets. All the installations were hidden in the floors or in the lowered ceiling. The office P8 is on the extreeme edge of the building, has windows on three sides and the view of the old city center and the sea. It was a perfect space for an architecture studio - our studio. The Loft kitchen / Ristretto bar is located in the iconic Chrystal Tower skyscraper in the heart of Kuwait City. These are two brands co-existing within the same space. Loft is a restaurant transforming hamburgers into refined dishes. Ristretto is a bar, focusing on the coffee experience, where you can also enjoy milk shakes or some elaborate cocktails. While different in personalities, the two brothers share a preference for a minimalist home with distinct elements. For the design of this 400m2 5-room resale apartment in Singapore, we proposed the use of the colour black as a thematic element given its toned-down masculine and modern qualities. The colour is strategically balanced with other contrasting blocks of colour such as blues and browns to break up the otherwise claustrophobic effect, creating spatial highlights against the overall neutral backdrop. Minimalist yet sensuous, the design also addresses the homeowners’ storage needs and aesthetic tastes without feeling too confined.
