Desert Box is a small mixed-use center for shops and offices located in Madinat Zayed City, an oasis city in the middle of the desert in the Western Emirate of Abu Dhabi. UPA Italia UPA Italia The customer's idea was to make the architecture look like commercial transport boxes, so as to give the project uniqueness and character, despite the simple functional program. The use of standard dimensions derives from the boxes. This meant that composite volumes and façade projections could be created like a sort of toy volumes. ZERO Box Lodge is a diferent accommodation format where the rooms are wooden compartments created for resting with comfort and privacy. The inspiration comes from the Japanese models called 'capsule hotels' adapted to a Western context. The capsules evolved into larger spaces, with a built-in bathroom and a room with space for two people.    The building originally from 1937 has a classic and sober exterior and here used to work an old garage, car shop and gas station.   It’s situated in Coimbra city centre, on Mondego river front, inside UNESCO protected heritage area. noa* was commissioned by IDM Alto Adige to develop the concept for a new trade fair stand to represent the soul of the South Tyrolean region for the "Berlin Travel Festival".    The pavilion aims to convey the idea of authenticity, quality, nature, sustainability, tradition and innovation: essential points for today's travelers and for modern tourism.   A modular pavilion, quick to assemble and dissemble, in order to easily change location, that carries its stories everywhere and allows guests to get a taste of what South Tyrol is like. LightBOX at Winn Park takes the concept of the traditional town square and transforms it into the idea of the neighborhood squares, where everyday activities can create a new hub for social life. Each square gives a variety of program to the neighborhood and can act as the neighborhood ‘living room’ where movies, plays, weddings, farmers markets, art events, festivals, and holiday events can play out. The main goal in this project was to transform an existing car service unit into a Crossbox, using quite limit resources. For that we tried to understand the space qualities and took advantage of them in benefit of the CrossFit training. Along side, a graphic image was developed for the brand in order to emphasize also the underground spirit of the space and to motivate the athletes. In terms of program, the existing dressing rooms were refurbished, and new cabinets were created in the back end of the Crossbox space.
