Project U is the story of the conversion of a disused office building (the old Fabricom headquarters) into a welcoming town hall housing 450 Uccle administrative officers. This aims to promote connections between services and improve citizens’ experience. The project combines respect for heritage with sustainable environmental performance to create a powerful working tool. A new children's bedroom was required, as well as a shower room for the master bedroom. This meant modifying the rear façade, which faces south and has a close facing neighbor. Caption Caption The new layout is structured around two main elements. The first is a wooden cladding wall, which incorporates the structure of the existing dormer and extends beyond the shower room. It protects it from exterior views and orients it towards nature and the setting sun. This semi-detached house borders a busy road in Brussels. The nuisances of this were all the more noticeable in the living room, as a set of annexes interposed itself with the garden and obstructed natural light. A young couple is charmed by the patina and character of the casco space they purchased near the centre of Brussels. The old wooden beams, the rough concrete floor, the traces of paint that testify to years of intense use and the three majestic cast-iron columns. Our brief is to develop an interior that includes a living space, two bedrooms, a bathroom, a guest toilet and ample storage space further building on (and thus partially preserving) the space's existing qualities. The project is located in Rue de Madeleine in the center of Brussels. De groundfloor is a former art gallery. The space was remodelled to sell baked goods.   The large showcase window from the previous gallery lends itself well to displaying the baked goods in the store. It entices people to enter and inquire. Once inside a large countertop fills the space. Along the sides of the space there is seating. Multidisciplinary studio Yakusha Design created a warm interior project of a residential gallery in Brussels, Belgium — FAINA House. The 2-floor wood-frame family house was turned into a homeliness contemporary design gallery with a wide exposition of live minimalist furniture and décor brand by Victoria Yakusha.    Big open windows impose interior that is filled with authentic contemporary furniture pieces in neutral beige colours with strong black accents. Solid wood, ceramic and felt are dominating materials in the interior, and create the tactile balance between concrete, steel finishes and brick walls. This apartment has been a special project. Being a fan of Gustave Strauven’s work, it was an honour to be able to improve the second floor of this charming building. Fully transforming the previous two studios into one apartment circular apartment, around the core. A difficult plan that had no space for a second bedroom and only one small bathroom, became a home with space for storage, a sharing bathroom to two bedrooms and a separate toilet. A spacious kitchen, living room and dining room, by eliminating difficult corners and angles from the previous construction. More

Curve is a creation of JOA. It allows a complete freedom of creation. In thi scase, a bookcase had been drawn. Bamboo trays, steel uprights give a feeling of lightness while the resistance is not to be proved. Open storage space, sliding doors, drawers, the options are wide in order to personalize the piece to every needs. More

Siege of the Brussels French Speaking Parliament. The new program includes: the seat of Brussels Parliament (PFB : French speaking part) and the restoration of the former Postal Relay (Renaissance 1694) as a polyvalent space. It would have been risky to chose the easy way by the creation of a mimetic building right wing of The Parliament or propose a dissonant solution with a draft bill only contemporary. Skope’s approach was different; inspired by the history of the place while assuming contemporary issues. The building is not a simple drawing of facades but a concept overall.
