Building restoration

The D.O.C. (Controlled Designation of Origin certification) wine produced on the hill on which Montecucco lies takes its name from the hamlet. The hamlet includes a small brick church, an agricultural building used as an oil mill, a residential building with a wine cellar below, and a complex of barns and warehouses. It dates back to between the first half of the eighteenth century and the beginning of the nineteenth century. Restoring an 11th century parish church means knowing its history and, above all, the causes of its abandonment, sometimes for historicized but incongruous interventions and harmful to its most intimate organism. The complex consists of two buildings of different origins, the church and the vicarage, the result of overlaps occurred over time, some of significant historical value, other additions of recent eras, lacking in value and easily recognizable, as well as a small walled cemetery owned by the municipality.   dMFK Architects’ restoration, repurposing and upgrade of C.F.A. Voysey's iconic former wallpaper factory in Chiswick has provided the ailing Arts & Crafts building with a new lease of life. Nearly a century after leaving, Voysey House’s original commissioners returned as occupiers in 2024. Originally constructed in 1902, the Grade II* Listed Voysey House is the only commercial building designed by celebrated architect C.F.A. Voysey. The restoration project of Palazzina Masieri in Venice, by Barman Architects, has been supported by Heritage Asset Management and Galerie Negropontes and has been realized for the Masieri Foundation, under the supervision of the IUAV University of Venice.
