Halcom Offices

The IT company's offices are located in the heritage-protected old Mladinska knjiga printing house, originally designed by architect Savin Sever. They occupy two thirds of the aisle of the otherwise tripartite, formerly industrial building. Ana Skobe Ana Skobe Ana Skobe In designing the new interior, three new galleries/islands have been placed in the open aisle of the printing house. They are set back from the existing characterful load-bearing structure, thus creating a variety of ambiences in the space, while at the same time allowing for a better use of the space. The galleries are positioned in the space according to the needs and possibilities of combining the company's programmes. Ana Skobe Ana Skobe Ana... More

RDO

The RDO family house is situated in the southwestern part of the residential zone Záhorské Sady, characterized by dense development and a lack of privacy. The client’s primary requirement was to ensure maximum privacy while incorporating a mature oak tree located near the center of the plot. The house design addresses these needs through a thoughtful layout that balances seclusion with openness. The plot, with its relatively regular shape, is bordered on three sides by neighboring properties. The fourth side opens to a quiet local road that leads to the Malé Karpaty hills. These conditions, coupled with the terrain's natural features, influenced the house's placement and design. Alex Shoots Buildings Alex... More

Aqqu Central Café

The Almaty-based studio breathes new life into a landmark pavilion, transforming 1960s nostalgia into a bold manifesto for contemporary commercial design. The Aqqu Central Café project is more than just a new opening in Almaty’s prestigious "Golden Square" it is a profound act of architectural reincarnation. In the 1960s, this site in Manshuk Mametova Park was home to the legendary "Aqqu" (Kazakh for White Swan). It was a sanctuary for the city’s intelligentsia, famous for its serene ponds where a pair of swans lived. After the original building was lost to a fire and eventually demolished, the site remained vacant, preserved only in the warm memories of older generations. Lagunen II Shopping Center

Lagunen II, Bergen Located in Bergen, one of Europe’s rainiest cities, Lagunen II is a climate-adaptive expansion of Norway’s largest shopping centre. Designed by BIOSIS, the project reinterprets the conventional mall typology as an open, light-filled urban structure that responds directly to the city’s coastal climate and neighbourhood context. The extension is conceived as a “good neighbour” to the surrounding residential area, emphasising openness, permeability, and everyday use rather than inward-facing retail. A large cantilevered roof extends outward to form a protective canopy along the public realm, offering shelter from rain and wind while creating a generous, covered transition between building and... Indie Lab

Indie Labs is the product of a collaboration between two studios: StudioSC, based in New York City, and Base Taller, based in Medellín, Colombia. With deep personal and professional ties to Medellín, StudioSC was invited to join the design team for a ground-up office building just outside the city center, perched at the edge of a natural preserve. The site’s sharply triangular geometry, dictated further by setback requirements, presented both a constraint and a starting point. Rather than accept a purely angular solution, the design softened the form by curving all three sides of the building. This move evolved into a larger design language of flowing, curvilinear spaces, forms that visually and spatially connect the bui... More

West Stockbridge Residence

This single-level modular prefab house in the Berkshires was designed as a country retreat for a couple based in NYC, with aging in place in mind. Capitalizing on the modular nature of construction, the floor plan is broken into a series of volumes that slip in the landscape, providing opportunities for a courtyard deck, private and varied views, and more glazing on the facade. The slipping nature of the plan allows variety across the different spaces of the home while allowing for separation or connectivity as desired. @Resolution: 4 Architecture @Resolution: 4 Architecture @Resolution: 4 Architecture @Resolution: 4 Architecture Entering the site from a winding country road, the drive leads to a covered carport.
