V ORMAN RESORT
V Orman Resort is a mixed-use complex in the Mudurnu district of Bolu, which is being built in phases. This complex is accompanied by a topographically specific terrain with a mesmerizing natural landscape and high altitude. Instead of a single building that disrupts the landscape with large-scale interventions, the project adopts the principle of fragmented horizontal architecture, aiming to preserve the overall texture of the existing topography. In Bolu, a city known for its natural beauty, this has enabled users to actively use open spaces instead of circulating in a closed volume while switching to different functions, to make maximum use of fresh air instead of mechanical ventilation, and to integrate with nature.

magdas HOTEL Vienna City
magdas, Austria’s first social business hotel, has moved to new premises at No 38 Ungargasse. BWM Architekten were responsible for the conversion of a former clerical residence into magdas HOTEL Vienna City, with 85 guest rooms, a restaurant with sidewalk tables and an al fresco dining area.While the quiet guest rooms are infused with the contemplative essence of the former Stephanushaus, BWM also reinterpreted the idea of human connection and community, not only by preserving the architecturally noteworthy chapel on the 6th floor, but also by opening the ground floor up to its urban surroundings thanks to the large windows in the hotel’s in-house restaurant that invite passers-by in. When the newly-minted Chinese brand Langbo joins hands with The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, a dialogue between old traditions and modern chic is staged, giving YANG, the designer, an opportunity to rethink and redefine Chinese style of travel and stay.
