Gold Butterfly Square Painting

A jagged seam of gold cuts diagonally through a field of raw black and weathered cream, thick enough to look almost geological — more mineral vein than brushstroke. Small black butterflies cluster along the gold, adding movement without softening the overall drama of the piece. Heavy texture throughout means the surface catches light unevenly, in a good way. BKF chair in normande cowhide

bO “FERRARI” Jorge Ferrari Hardoy was an architect and designer born in Buenos Aires, one of the two Argentinians that form part of the trio of creators of the mythical BKF chair. He is one of the fathers of the Modern Movement, a combination of trends that would break the architectonic tradition known until then, giving birth to the new modern architecture that would take its first steps in the first decades of the twentieth century. The Butterfly chair is, therefore, an essential part of this revolutionary design movement. It is the result of thinking, ideas and trend rupture of three of the fathers of the Modern Movement. More

BKF chair in natural leather

bO “THE ORIGINAL” This is the original: the brown-leathered, mythical Butterfly chair that has travelled all over the world. It is not a whim, nor fashion, it is a design icon that rises in value over time. Some consider it “more than a chair, an entire theorem of the modernist project; an inspiring historic model”. It is a museum piece that has had the luxury of residing in the MoMa in New York. The BKF chair radiates history, culture and tradition through every pore. This is a story that completes itself with the passing of years, which enriches it and perfects it even more. More

bicycle- footbridge Vlinderbrug N18 Lichtenvoorde

The VlinderBrug or “Butterfly Bridge” is a pedestrian/cycle bridge which makes an elegant leap across the busy provincial highway. The shape refers to the butterfly emblem of Oost Gelre. The two wooden arches, filled with stretched mesh, suggest wings – the wings of a gigantic butterfly which has alighted over the N18 near Lichtenvoorde. More

FREEWING LOUNGE CHAIR

This unique chair was somehow missing from the world and it wanted to be there. Of course there are other chairs shaped like butterflies but none like this one. The design combines facetted angular shapes with nice round curves in a natural way creating a modern and chique contrast. The Freewing Lounge Chair was designed in the blink of an eye by simply cutting and folding a piece of paper grabbed from the copier, and this simple straightforward approach can still be seen in the elegant endresult :)Dimensions: W 93cm D 93cm H 107cm More
